The scope of works for this project involved a major refurbishment of both the internal and external areas of Oasis Mess. The external works included the replacement of roof flashings, gutters, downpipes, fascias, barges eave linings, façade linings, and the stormwater drainage system which required crane hoisting of materials and plant equipment. Any external cladding that could be easily removed was also replaced. All doors and windows were replaced with modern energy efficient units and ACM remediation works were conducted.
Internal works involved the repainting of all wall linings and ceiling linings. Floor coverings and all aged building services including mechanical systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, stormwater drainage, sewer pipes, HVAC, fire services, and security services were replaced. The building was brought up to all required BCA, Australian Standards and MFPE including access/egress, lighting, fire and security, amenity, and functional usage layout. All existing toilets were stripped back, internal ablutions and wet areas refurbished as well as kitchens and crew areas, to meet permanent occupant requirement.
