HMAS Penguin

Baseline completed several projects with BGIS at HMAS Penguin including major projects at Building 16 and 17. The scope of works was varied, requiring Baseline to engage specialist subcontractors for technical packages of work. Buildings 16 and 17 are highly utilised assets, centrally located within the base. Significant planning and coordination with stakeholders was critical to ensure Defence operations were not impacted by construction works.

Building 16 works involved remediation of six Live-In Accommodation balconies including HAZMAT removal, structural works, concrete remediation, and waterproofing, with all finishes and detailing completed in accordance with heritage criteria. Building 17 works involved the replacement of 1200sqm of roof tiles and exterior finishes upgrades. New bespoke tiles were manufactured to meet heritage requirements.
